faq

do i need an account for free plugins?

yes. every download needs a (free) account — it's how we can tell you about critical updates and keep licensing honest.

how does a paid plugin get licensed?

two ways. a usb key: your usb stick is fingerprinted and registered against your license — the plugin then runs wherever that stick is plugged in. or a license code: a code like FLD-XXXXX-… you redeem in your account for a download license.

does floda manager need an api token or an account?

no. floda manager works without any tokens: it detects floda plugins in your showfile, fingerprints your usb stick and checks the stick's licenses with our server. every answer is cryptographically signed by our key — there is no secret to paste into the console, and nothing that can leak.

does the plugin phone home?

when the console has internet, the plugin re-checks its license against our server and refreshes its offline window (currently 14 days). with no internet it validates the usb key locally until that window runs out. registration of a new usb key always needs internet.

what if my usb key breaks?

contact us — we blacklist the old fingerprint and register your replacement. licenses move with you, not with the hardware.

can i use my license on two consoles?

a usb-key license runs wherever the key is plugged in — one console at a time. account licenses let you download on any of your machines.

i lost my license code.

redeemed codes are attached to your account — check the licenses table in your account. unredeemed codes can be re-sent by whoever issued them.
